Influenza Immunization Clinics begins in the middle of October in Peace Country Health.

This year, staff and residents in nursing homes will be immunized first.  All others can attend immunization clinics after October 22 to receive their influenza immunization. For those that don’t qualify for provincially funded vaccine, there will be a charge for vaccine. 

Who is it for?

Everyone should protect themselves and their families from Influenza by getting immunized. 

Many people are eligible to receive the vaccine for free including:

  • Infants 6 months old to five years old
  • Household contacts of infants
  • Pregnant women
  • People over 50 years old
  • People under 65 with certain chronic illnesses
  • Health Care workers

As well, vaccine is provided to household contacts of:

  •  Infants 6 - 23 months old
  • Pregnant women
  • People over 65 years old
     

Others may receive their shot for a fee.

How do I access it?

During the immunization campaign schedules will be posted here to find an immunization clinic near you.

After the campaign click here to find the phone number of the public health centre nearest you and ask about receiving your influenza immunization. You can also call 1-800-732-8981 and ask to be connected to the Public Health Centre in your community.

What does it cost?

There is no cost to immunize people who are in the target populations listed above. There is a charge for people who are not in one of the above listed target groups.
