Palliative Care Program
Palliative Care is compassionate care for a person who is dying.
Personal and health services are provided with an emphasis on quality of life and maintaining dignity and comfort.
Palliative care does not attempt to hasten or stall death. The focus of palliative care is on the relief of physical, emotional or spiritual suffering. An important part of palliative care is supporting individuals and their family through the end-stage of illness and bereavement.
Palliative care is provided in a variety of settings throughout Peace Country Health, in hospitals, in Continuing Care Centres and in individual's own homes.
